Introducing the Trinity Work Range.

UTV Products Expands Its Premium Lighting Range with New 90W 7,200 Lumen Square Work Lights Featuring Integrated DRL and Strobe Technology

Nantwich, Cheshire โ€“ Building on the success of its flagship UTV3022 work light, UTV Products has unveiled two new additions to its premium lighting range โ€“ the 90W, 7,200-lumen square work lights with integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and strobe functionality. Available in both White/Amber (UTV3022-1) and Red/Amber DRL (UTV3022-2) configurations, the new models have been developed to meet the growing demand for high-performance lighting that combines exceptional illumination with enhanced on-road safety.

The new lights are the latest evolution of the extensive research and development programme that created the acclaimed UTV3023. Rather than simply adding warning functions to an existing product, UTV Products’ engineering team took the proven optical platform, lens technology and thermal management principles from the UTV3023 and developed a versatile solution capable of serving multiple industries where visibility and safety are equally important.

Ben Bonell, Project Engineer at UTV Products, explained:

“What sets the UTV3023 apart is its exceptional LUX readings, advanced lens design and highly efficient heat sink. It’s a light full of cutting-edge technology without ever compromising on looks. The perfect balance of performance and design.”

Those same engineering principles underpin the Trinity Work Range. The development process included detailed CAD design, thermal analysis, prototype manufacture, extensive field testing and refinement to ensure the lights deliver maximum performance while maintaining UTV Products’ distinctive OEM-style appearance and long-term reliability.

Designed for Real-World Applications

The new lights have already proven themselves in demanding working environments.

Martin Jones of Martin Tree Care has recently had the new lights fitted to his Valtra T174, where they support work both on public highways and in the field. Tree surgery often involves travelling between sites on busy roads before working in poorly lit rural locations, making the combination of powerful work lighting and integrated strobe functionality invaluable.

The lights have also recently been installed on Highway Harper’s, James Harperโ€™s, JCB Pothole Pro, where operators require outstanding forward visibility for night-time highway work while remaining highly visible to passing traffic. The integrated amber warning function provides a clean installation by allowing the DRL to be linked into the vehicle’s beacon circuit, reducing the need for additional warning lights when working on the road or at night.

One Light, Multiple Industries

While developed with agricultural machinery in mind, the new lights have been engineered for a wide variety of professional applications.

For agriculture, operators transporting silage, straw or machinery between fields can utilise the amber DRL connected to the vehicle’s beacon system to improve visibility on public roads before switching seamlessly to high-output work lighting once back in the field.

For highway maintenance, local authorities and contractors benefit from powerful illumination for night working alongside integrated warning capability, helping operators remain visible without compromising lighting performance.

The lights are equally suited to forestry, construction, utilities, plant hire and recovery vehiclesโ€”anywhere operators regularly transition between road travel and demanding off-road working conditions.

Performance Without Compromise

Like the UTV3023 before them, the new 90W work lights have been designed around one philosophy: delivering measurable lighting performance without sacrificing aesthetics or reliability.

By combining high LUX performance, advanced optics, efficient heat dissipation and integrated safety functions into a single compact unit, UTV Products continues to develop lighting solutions that solve real-world challenges faced by professional operators every day.

For contractors, farmers and fleet operators alike, the latest additions to the UTV Products range demonstrate that exceptional lighting and enhanced safety no longer need to be separate installationsโ€”they can now come as one integrated solution.

Hedge Cutting Season is Nearly Here โ€“ Make the Most of Every Hour

There’s always a bit of anticipation when the hedge cutting ban is coming to an end. After months of watching the hedges grow, it’s finally time to get back out there and tidy field boundaries ready for the months ahead.

Of course, hedge cutting isn’t the only job on the list. For most farmers, it’s something that has to fit around everything else. Livestock still need feeding, crops still need looking after, machinery still needs maintaining and, at this time of year when the days start to shorten, there is never enough hours in the day.

Throw in the recent warm weather, and it’s no surprise that many farmers are choosing to leave jobs until later in the evening, when the temperature has dropped and the day’s more pressing jobs are behind them.

That’s where LED lights for hedgecutting becomes worth its weight in gold.

Some of the most productive hours on the farm can be those after tea. The yard is quiet, the roads are calmer, the heat has eased off and you can finally get on with those jobs you’ve not been able to touch in daylight.

Hedge cutting is often one of them. But as the evenings start drawing in, or if you’re trying to get ahead before the weather turns, good visibility quickly becomes essential. You want to see exactly where the cutter is working, spot gateways, fence posts, ditches and overhanging branches, and leave a hedge you’re proud to look back at.

Few people know hedge cutting better than Paul Harding of John Harding & Son. Paul has been hedge cutting since he was just 16 years old, spending decades helping farms, councils and residential homes across his local area keep their hedgerows in top condition.

He knows just how quickly conditions can change. As Paul explains:

“With unpredictable UK weather, you’re always working against the clock. It can feel like you’re racing the cutting ban to get every job completed before the end of February. There’s a lot of pressure because you don’t want to let your customers down. Having high-performance LED lighting means I can safely carry on into the evening and maximise every hour the weather gives me.”

When the weather finally gives you a chance, you make the most of it. In 2024, the fields were that wet, jobs could only be done when farmers and contractors could get on the field. This year, heat is making an already demanding job even more taxing on workers and machinery. It often means working from first light until well after the sun has gone down.

Paul regularly hedge cuts into the evening throughout the winter months, relying on quality lighting to keep the hedge, the cutter and everything around him clearly visible.

As anyone who’s watched the interview Paul did with UTV Products, he takes enormous pride in producing a tidy finish. Having the best LED lights for hedgecutting is just another part of doing the job properly.

You don’t have to be a full-time hedge cutting contractor to appreciate the benefits of quality LED lighting. In fact, many of our customers are farmers who are juggling agriculture alongside a full-time jobโ€”a way of life that’s becoming increasingly common across the UK and Ireland.

When you’re fitting farm work around a nine-to-five, every spare hour counts. Hedge cutting, fencing and general maintenance often have to wait until the evenings or weekends, making good lighting essential if you want to keep on top of jobs safely and efficiently.

Jack knows this all too well. Alongside helping to run the family beef farm, he also works full-time, meaning much of his farming takes place outside normal working hours. He shares his experience of using the UTV260K Hedge Cutting Kit from UTV Products:

“I help on our family beef farm, where we don’t always have the luxury of lots of machinery or extra hands. What might take another farm a morning can easily take me a full day, so those extra hours in the evening are really important for keeping on top of everything โ€“ including hedge cutting.

The UTV hedge cutting kit has made a huge difference. I can carry on working well into the evening when it’s cooler, without worrying about visibility. In fact, I actually prefer hedge cutting in the dark now. The roads are quieter, it’s more comfortable to work, and the LEDs light up every single twig and branch, making it much easier to see exactly what I’m cutting.”

At UTV Products, we’ve developed a range of LED work light kits specifically for hedge cutting applications.

Whether you prefer a bracket-mounted setup or a DIN pole-mounted system, our range includes options to suit different tractors and hedge cutter configurations.

Available kits include:

Each kit is designed to throw bright, clear LED light exactly where you need itโ€”around the cutting head and hedge lineโ€”so you can keep working safely and confidently as daylight fades.

It’s often the simplest upgrades that make the biggest difference. Better visibility means less eye strain, less guesswork and a more comfortable evening in the tractor.

It means spotting obstacles sooner, producing a neater finish and feeling confident when you’re working alongside roads or in awkward field corners.

Most importantly, LED lights for hedgecutting gives you the flexibility to work when it suits youโ€”not just when daylight allows.

Be Ready for the Season

The hedge cutting season soon comes around. If you’re getting your hedge cutter serviced, checking flails or replacing wearing parts, it’s also the perfect time to think about your lighting.

Whether you’re cutting miles of roadside hedges as a contractor, like Paul Harding, or simply keeping your own farm looking its best, like Jack over in Ireland, our hedge cutting LED work light kits are built to help you work safely, comfortably and make the most of every hour available.

Because when you’ve finally got time to tackle the hedges, the sun shouldn’t be the reason you have to stop.

Field Tested: UTV vs Kubota

Field Tested: UTV vs Kubota

Customer: Craig Williams (The 1 Dirt Monkey)
Machine: Kubota KX060-5

The Challenge

Craig Williams, known by many as The 1 Dirt Monkey, regularly works long days that often stretch into the night. Running his Kubota KX060-5 excavator on his site means visibility isnโ€™t just helpful, itโ€™s critical.

While the Kubota comes with factory-fitted LED work lights, Craig found they simply didnโ€™t give him the brightness or spread he needed.

โ€œTheyโ€™re fine if youโ€™re just ticking over,โ€ Craig explained, โ€œbut when youโ€™re working properly at night, they donโ€™t light up the surrounding areas enough.โ€

The issue wasnโ€™t just distance, it was coverage. Poor side visibility, limited spread and limited light output, meant Craig had to either slow down or stop completely when nighttime came.

For a machine working in tight spaces and around obstacles with short deadlines, thatโ€™s far from ideal.

The Solution

Craig upgraded his Kubota KX060-5 with UTV3012 45W Square Work Lights from UTV Products.

Designed as high-performance aftermarket LED lights for a range of machines, the UTV3012 delivers powerful flood-beam coverage while maintaining a clean, professional fit.

Once installed, the difference was immediate.

Craigโ€™s response?

โ€œThey are bl**dy bright!โ€

Simple. Honest. Field-tested.

The Results

With the UTV3012 fitted, Craig immediately noticed:

  • Wider flood spread around the dig area
  • Brighter, clearer working zone
  • Reduced shadows around the boom and bucket
  • Greater confidence operating at night

The surrounding areas that were once dim are now fully illuminated, allowing Craig to work efficiently and safely after dark.

When comparing UTV Products LED lights vs Kubota Factory-Fitted, the real-world difference isnโ€™t subtle, itโ€™s visible from the moment you switch them on.

For contractors searching for the best LED work lights for construction equipment, brightness alone isnโ€™t enough. Spread, clarity and reliability matter just as much โ€” and thatโ€™s where UTV Products stands out.

The Stats

UTV3012 โ€“ 45W Square Work Light

ยฃ69.00 ex VAT

  • 3,400 actual lumens
  • Flood beam for maximum area coverage
  • IP68 waterproof rating
  • Zero radio interference
  • Plug-and-play design
  • Durable die-cast aluminium housing

Why Lumens Matter

If youโ€™re wondering what makes the difference, it comes down to measurable output.

Lumens measure the total amount of visible light emitted by a source.

Higher actual lumen output means:

  • Brighter illumination
  • Better visibility at distance
  • Improved clarity around attachments
  • Reduced eye strain during long shifts

Many OEM lights do not publish actual lumen figures, making direct comparison difficult. At UTV Products, we provide actual lumen measurements, so customers know exactly what theyโ€™re getting.

Why Upgrade to Aftermarket Lights for Kubota Excavators?

Factory lights are built to meet a standard specification, not to maximise performance.

Upgrading to aftermarket lights for Kubota excavators allows operators to:

  • Improve safety in low-light conditions
  • Increase productivity on night jobs
  • Reduce fatigue
  • Work confidently in all environments

Craigโ€™s verdict says it all โ€” the difference isnโ€™t marginal. Itโ€™s dramatic.

A Perfect Fit:

Introducing the New UTV397K LED Headlight Kit for Bateman Sprayers

At UTV Products, weโ€™re proud to innovate with purpose and that means listening to the needs of real customers working in the field. Our latest release, the UTV397K Square LED Headlight Kit, is a direct result of that hands-on collaboration.

Lighting Challenges in the Field

Steve Jones from Hooftrimming Limited and long-standing customer of UTV Products, came to us with a specific challenge. His Bateman Sprayerโ€™s existing headlights werenโ€™t delivering the clarity and reliability he needed during demanding night work. We worked closely with Steve to obtain exact measurements from the original light surround, aiming to create a plug-and-play upgrade solution with maximum brightness and perfect fit.

Precision in Development

Our first prototype, while promising in performance, didnโ€™t quite hit the mark physically. The headlight sat too far back, causing snagging issues with the surrounding fiberglass. We took that feedback straight back to the design team.

Using CAD modelling, we deepened the fitting and refined the shape and on the second prototype, we nailed it. The result? A headlight kit that fits seamlessly into the Bateman housing, looks OEM and performs to UTVโ€™s signature high standards.

Introducing the UTV397K: Designed to Deliver

The new UTV397K LED Headlight Kit is built to transform visibility on Bateman machines. Featuring a compact square design, itโ€™s tailored specifically to match the contours of the sprayerโ€™s front end – no awkward overhangs. However, the lights can simply be adjusted and are easily accessible on the front light housing. This alteration allows the headlight beam to meet UK road legal requirements.

Behind the design is serious lighting power:

  • High beam: 4,000 actual Lumens
  • Low beam: 1,600 actual Lumens
  • Built-in daytime running light (DRL)
  • Fully road legal and E-marked
  • Plug-and-play installation

Whether youโ€™re working late into the evening or starting before sunrise, the UTV397K cuts through with a bright, crisp beam pattern.

From the Workshop to the Field

This product wouldnโ€™t exist without direct input from customers like Steve, who are out in all conditions relying on their equipment to perform. His feedback helped turn a good idea into a great product and weโ€™re proud to say this headlight is now available to order.

“Needed a solution and UTV Products delivered. As always great service.” Steve Jones.

Built for Bateman. Built to Last.

The UTV397K is more than just a lighting upgrade it’s a tailored solution built for the exact needs of Bateman Sprayer operators. Like all our products, it’s engineered to meet the high standards expected by professionals across the agricultural industry.

The Hard Truth About Raw Lumens and Actual Lumens

When upgrading your machine, there are a lot of choices and information out there on the type of LED you should buy. With all these lights, it can be easy to be overwhelmed by information. Lumens this, lumens that – Iโ€™m sure you have seen the word if you have been on ANY listing about LEDs. Butโ€ฆ it has become somewhat of a buzzword. In fact, the measurement is a very broad umbrella term for the different types of lumens: Raw and Actual.

Why Should I Care?

Okay, so there are different types of lumens, but why should I care?

Well, understanding the different types of measurement is incredibly important in choosing the most powerful light. If you were to choose a light, solely off Raw or Actual Lumens, it could make or break the difference between having great LEDs on your machine and very poor visibilty.

So what is the difference?

Raw Lumens

This measurment refers to the theoretical amount of light produced by a light source. Raw Lumen output does not account for any losses due to factors like optical inefficiencies, beam patterns or light diffusion. As a result, raw lumens donโ€™t accurately represent the actual performance of the light in real-world applications.

Actual Lumens

On the other hand, this measurement takes into consideration various factors that impact the actual brightness of the LED in real-world scenarios. This measurement accounts for losses due to factors such as optical design, light dispersion, lens quality and overall system efficiency. In essence, Actual Lumens provide an accurate representation of the light’s practical performance.

What You Need To Look For When Upgrading Your Lights

Understanding the difference between these two measurements, it would make more sense for manufacturers to state Actual Lumens when listing products because it is a realistic reflection of the performance of the light in real-life conditions. However, many LEDs on the market measure with Raw Lumens to make their lights seem brighter than they are in use.

Companies that are transparent about the performance of their lights will proactively state Actual Lumen values because it is impossible to achieve Raw Lumen values. For example, UTV Productsโ€™ brochure states:

โ€œUTV Products state actual Lumen values whereas other manufacturers state raw Lumen values which can never be achieved.โ€

When looking at LED products, check whether Actual Lumen values are being stated and if not consider why. You can almost guarantee that whilst Raw Lumens are high, there would be a large drop in performance due to losses during use. That is why you should look for Actual Lumens โ€“ in this measurement, losses are already considered.

Conclusion

The distinction between Raw and Actual Lumen measurements is crucial when purchasing LEDs, as it determines the true performance of lights in real-world scenarios. Raw Lumen values represent the maximum, theoretical brightness without factoring in practical considerations. On the other hand, Actual Lumens account for these factors, offering a more accurate reflection of a light’s performance in use.

Understanding this disparity is paramount when making purchasing decisions, as relying solely on Raw Lumen values can lead to disappointment with the actual performance of the lights. Transparent companies, like UTV Products, prioritise stating Actual Lumen values, ensuring consumers have realistic expectations.

As consumers, it’s essential to scrutinise product listings and prioritise those that provide Actual Lumen values. While Raw Lumens may appear impressive on paper, it’s the Actual Lumens that truly matter in delivering optimal illumination for your needs.

UTV Try-Outs: A Work Light Review

UTV Products - A work light review
The UTV Products Try-Outs – A work light review

An LED comparison: John Deere vs UTV!

For most people, straying from the original manufacturer when purchasing new LED lights can be daunting. There is a lot of choice in the industry and choosing the right lights really matters.

There are premium branded lights, spare part supplier lights and cheap and cheerful lights. There is a lot to consider when upgrading your machineโ€™s LEDs so you might ask yourself why choose UTV Products?

UTV Products have confidence in the unparalleled performance of their lights, so they have started the UTV Try-Outs (a light comparison series) to gain your confidence too. This month, they tested John Deereโ€™s LED work light with our UTV359 LED work light. You wonโ€™t believe the results.

The Work Light Comparison

The UTV Team wanted to compare the John Deere work light and the UTV359 work light. The Lux reader was set up on a stand 10 metres away from the John Deere light. First up was the John Deere light, and it was impressive! It was bright and lit up the space, but what did the Lux readings say? 30.7 Lux was recorded at 10 metres.

Next was the moment of truth for the UTV359 light. When not powered up it looked very similar in appearance to the John Deere light (after all, we are OEM manufacturers). However, it was when the power was switched on that UTV359 really sparked a noticeable difference! Lux reading taken: an impressive 70.5 lux at 10 metres.

To investigate this further, the UTV Team took Lux readings at 25 metres too. The John Deere light read 4.5 lux and the UTV359 light read 12.2 lux. That is over two times greater illuminance for the UTV359 compared to the John Deere light at 10 metres, and almost three times greater illuminance at 25 metres.

So, there you have it, the UTV359 is a winner when it comes to spread of light and how far the light travels. If youโ€™re looking for a light that can evenly light up your work area with no bright spots or bleached out white areas, then look no further than UTV Products.

Is brightness everything?

But is brightness everything? We know that our customers love a powerful LED light, however we also know that our customers like to maintain their machine’s OEM appearance. That is why UTV Products manufacture their lights to mimic the factory-fitted finish but to have a much greater output. As mentioned earlier, the UTV359 looked rather similar in appearance to that of the John Deere work light when the power was off. This means that when fitted to your machine, the light aesthetic doesnโ€™t look out of place.

What is Lux?

What even is Lux, you ask? Jack from UTV Products helps us break it down:

โ€œThe best measure of a light’s performance is by comparing the lux readings. Lux is the SI unit of illuminance and is equal to one lumen per square metre. In simple terms, it is the brightness of the light measured at a defined point in the distance.โ€

Looking After Your LED Lights

Looking after your UTV Products LED lights.
Looking after your LED lights.

All LED lights that UTV Products are fitted to are machines that work in harsh and challenging environments. From tractors, diggers and sprayers to lorries and 4x4s, dirt and dust can inevitably build up on some parts of the light. This is due to where the light is mounted coupled with the type of work and harsh environments they are continually exposed to.

Working in these settingsโ€™ dirt will obviously attach itself to the light. A build-up of this can affect the lights so it is always worth giving them a clean regularly. We know that many customers can be short on time but a clean from time to time can ensure you get the most out of your lights.

We recommend the parts of the light that need a little more of your attention are the lens and in between the cooling fins. This is to avoid a build-up and ensure that the light can work to its full potential.

In particular, LEDs that are fitted to sprayers can be exposed to harsh chemicals. Our UTV339 LED is designed to work in these challenging conditions. This light is chemical-resistant to pendimethalin meaning this is designed to work with highly corrosive pre-emergence sprays which usually attack the polycarbonate glass lens on a standard light.ย The UV coating on the paint adds even more chemical resistance too.

Of course, these LEDs are robust lights so they are always going to be reliable through any conditions but a clean from time to time can only enhance your LED lights more. Look out for our posts over the summer months on social media where we will be doing our own tests to see if we can really push these lights to the limits.

Things to Consider When Buying LED Lights

Thing to consider when buying LED lights
Things to consider when making an LED lighting investment.

There are many things to consider when kitting out your workhorse machine with new LED lights. Looking for information? Then read on to guide you through things to consider when making this valuable investment.

  1. Measurement of light output

First things first, if you have done a little research already when comparing the best LED lights then you may have come across โ€˜Lumensโ€™. This is the measurement used when measuring the light output. But be careful. Many LED lighting companies will lure you with high Lumen measurements which isnโ€™t exactly wrong but isnโ€™t right either. This is because there are 3 types of Lumen measurements: theoretical, cold and effective (actual). While they are all good to know it is only really the actual measurement that is of any use. The actual measurement will always be lower than theoretical which can never be achieved.

  1. Colour Temperature

Another factor to consider is colour temperature. But why is this important? All of our LEDs are manufactured between 6000K and 6500K meaning they closely mimic natural daylight with their clear crystal white light. The benefit of this? Less eye fatigue means you can continue with those night-time jobs with ease.

  1. Radio interference

We understand there are many factors why customers might be driven to buy cheaper LED lights. However, many of these lights can have an impact on various things. Specifically, many LEDs from manufacturers can interfere with your radio but with all of our LED lights from UTV Products there is no radio interference. So, no irritating crackles when your radio, CB radio and even your GPS are on meaning you can carry on with your night-time work with no interruptions.

  1. Price

Price, of course, will play a massive part in helping you decide which LED lights are for you. Premium LEDs can come at a premium price but there can be a reason for this. Cheap LED lights use cheap components which will affect the quality and longevity of lamp life. At the time you may feel that buying a cheaper LED is the better option, and we understand there are budget constraints, but you will not get the full benefit of a premium LED upgrade.

However, cheap can mean reduced quality but also expensive doesnโ€™t always guarantee excellence either. That is why at UTV Products we take time to price our lights giving you the highest quality lights at the best possible price. For more information then read our previous blog post โ€˜Are all LED lights the same?โ€™

  1. Beam Pattern

Buying any LED lights would surely give you the same beam pattern? Unfortunately not. With some LEDs, particularly cheaper ones, there can be dark spots and some lights that give glare which defeats the object of what the lights should be helping you with. At UTV Products we are here to help match you with the LEDs that will suit your work as well as your machine. Additionally, we are always heavily investing in R&D to make them perfect.

  1. Position and direction of light

Position and direction can help ensure you are getting the most out of your LED overhaul. Speaking with our experts can offer ideas on where best to position your light so that you have comfortable lighting that allows you to work long into the night.

  1. Durability

Likely that you have bought a machine to cope with the most challenging environments, then why not ensure that your LED lights can withstand tough conditions too? Yes, the cost in the initial outlay may be more but investing at the beginning can save you money in the future. We spend time and effort to ensure our lights are built to last.

  1. Fitment

A big decider for lots of people is how easy new LEDs are to install on their machines. We know there are time limits and many people who donโ€™t want to spend money and time researching all the components needed to upgrade. At UTV Products we have a wide range of plug-and-play so thereโ€™s no messing, no modification, no problem. We have spent time and effort to ensure connectors are sorted for you. We also pride ourselves that we are always at the end of the phone should you need any extra help when fitting your LED lights. Yes, we sell premium products but we provide long-lasting support too.
